Thank you for visiting our web site. Spamnix Software is committed to protecting the privacy of our visitors and customers. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices.
I. Web site
A. Cookies
A web "cookie" is a small piece of information stored a visitor's hard drive that allows the web site to monitor the individual's use of the site.
The Spamnix Software web site uses a single cookie to track the "referrer" that led you to the Spamnix web site. For example, if you search for Spamnix at a search engine and then click on a link from the search results page to our web site, the "referrer" is the URL of the search engine results page that contained the link to Spamnix that you clicked on. The cookie delivers this referrer URL to the Spamnix web server each time you visit a page.
Spamnix uses the cookie to monitor the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing campaigns. The cookie contains no personally identifiable information, is not used to monitor which pages you visit inside the Spamnix website or on any other website, and expires automatically after 30 days.
B. Log Files
In order to improve the usefulness of our web site for our visitors, we automatically collect and maintain statistical information from our site's data logs that concern network traffic flow and volume. This information consists of:
- The name of the domain from which the visitor accesses the Internet (e.g., a "company.com"; a "school.edu"; or an "agency.gov").
- The IP Address for your connection.
- The date and time the web site is visited.
- The web page visited.
This information does not identify individual visitors.
We may use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. We analyze log files to determine how many people are visiting our web site and how they are using it. No attempts are made to identify individual users unless illegal behavior is suspected.
C. Product Information
Visitors to our web site may request support or information about our products. When people contact us, we collect their contact information (like their email address) in order to be able to respond to them.
D. Download/Order Form
Our site uses download and order forms, for customers to obtain and purchase our products. If people purchase our products from our online forms, we record and process the credit card numbers used to purchase our product through a trusted outside credit processing service. Contact information from the forms is saved for future reference, in case we need to contact you regarding the product or verify that you purchased the product from us (for example, so we can re-send your product or registration code to you at your request). Any information we collect on individuals is kept confidential to us.
We do NOT, however, keep credit card numbers anywhere on our web server or in our offices once a purchase transaction is complete.
E. Security
This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.
F. Links to Other Sites
Our site may contain links to other sites, such as those that have written reviews of our products, or sites that may provide additional information about spam email. Spamnix Software is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of other Web sites.
II. Spamnix Software
A. Eudora Plug-in
Spamnix for Eudora is a QUALCOMM Eudora Plug-in that runs inside Eudora only while Eudora is running. Eudora passes each message it receives to Spamnix for processing, and Spamnix identifies which messages are spam so that Eudora's "Filters" mechanism can delete them automatically. Thus, Spamnix must inherently have access to all incoming email in order to operate.
Spamnix's operations are all performed locally on the customer's computer. Spamnix does not send any information whatsoever about any email message that it processes to us or to any other party, ever.
B. Server Contact
Occasionally Spamnix software may contact the spamnix.com web server to check for updates to the product, spam-blocking rules, or for a message to display to the user. Regular updates are essential to maintaining the stability, compatibility, and effectiveness of Spamnix as new spam techniques proliferate on the web. When the software contacts our server, it sends only non-personally identifiable information. And again, it never sends any information related to the email messages it processes.
III. Mailing lists
Spamnix Software maintains mailing lists of users who have opted in to receive product information, news, or other information from us. Users may subscribe to these mailing lists via various pages on our web site. Our mailing lists are "verified opt-in" lists, which means users must first provide their email address and then reply to a confirmation message in order to be subscribed.
We do not sell, trade or exchange our mailing list. We will not disclose our users' name and email address to any party unless required to by law. Users can opt out of the list at any time by contacting us.
