What's New with Spamnix
Spamnix 3.0 for Windows and MacOS X
Spamnix 3.0 is a major upgrade. It uses a completely new spam recognition algorithm that is more accurate and faster than all prior versions. You can download it here. Some of the new features are:
- Spam-blocking accuracy of well over 99% once Spamnix is fully trained.
- Block messages containing executable attachments, reducing your risk of computer viruses.
- Choose whether you want to block messages by sending them to the Junk mailbox, the Trash, any other mailbox, and/or by deleting them completely, depending on how spam-like the message is.
- Accept or Reject messages based on any attachment name.
Changes since Spamnix 3.0.10 are:
- [3.0.30] Fixed: For some users that have trained Spamnix on a very large amount of email, Spamnix would report an internal error every time Eudora started.
- [3.0.29] Added "One year ago" option to the Statistics dialog box.
- [3.0.28] Fixed: Spamnix ignored Address Book entries for some Eudora users.
- [3.0.28] Fixed: Spamnix could leak memory and possibly cause an internal error during training.
- [3.0.28] Fixed: Spamnix could report an internal error when its Settings dialog was closed.
- [3.0.28] Fixed: Users with very old (Spamnix 1.0 circa 2002) Spamnix trial registration codes were not able to get a new 30-day trial for Spamnix 3.0.
- [3.0.27] Worked around a bug in Eudora 7 that caused Spamnix to lose its settings and behave incorrectly for users that had Spamnix installed both in their Eudora installation directory and mail folder.
- [3.0.27] Fixed: On MacOS X, Spamnix would cause Eudora to crash on startup if the Eudora Junk setting "Hold junk in Junk mailbox" was enabled.
- [3.0.26] Fixed: For users with an IMAP account configured to download minimal headers only, Spamnix could generate an internal error when closing the Spamnix Settings dialog box.
- [3.0.25] Fixed: For users that have trained a large amount (well over 100K) of spam or non-spam, Spamnix could become slow, inaccurate, and sometimes consume 100% of the CPU.
- [3.0.25] Fixed: Spamnix's warning message about training vs. Accept/Reject rule contradictions rule was confusion; it is now more clear.
- [3.0.25] Fixed: Spamnix no longer displays a pop-up warning during email download about training vs. Accept/Reject rule contradictions when you invoke the Junk or Not Junk action from a custom Eudora filter.
- [3.0.24] Fixed: Spamnix stopped working on MacOS X 10.2 (Jaguar).
- [3.0.24] Work around a bug in Eudora 6.2.4 or newer that caused Spamnix to report an internal error.
- [3.0.24] Spamnix can now display spam-blocking statistics for the previous 7 days, 30 days, or since statistics were last reset.
- [3.0.22] Spamnix now supports IMAP with Eudora 6.
- [3.0.20] Fixed: Spamnix did not work with Eudora 6.2.3 on MacOS X.
- [3.0.20] Spamnix uses less memory than prior 3.0 versions.
- [3.0.19] Spamnix's learning algorithm is now more accurate.
- [3.0.19] Fixed: Spamnix could report an error when attempting to classify or train a zero-length message.

- [3.0.13] Spamnix 3.0 is now in full release, and no longer in beta test.

- [3.0.12] The Spam Actions tab now provides an option for whether or not to mark blocked spam messages as read.
- [3.0.12] Fixed: Some messages (those containing message/rfc822 MIME sub-parts) could receive multiple spam reports or be blocked even though they match an Accept rule or in the address book.

- [3.0.11] Fixed: Running the Junk, Not Junk, Accept, or Reject commands when Spamnix had disabled itself would result in an error report.
- [3.0.11] Fixed: Spamnix sometimes reported an error while training on empty mailboxes.
